Level I first-timer here. Nice to be part of this forum!
Just starting out in my career as well so any advice on taking the CFA as well as doing well at work would be much appreciated!
Just give me all the bacon and eggs you have. Wait, wait. I'm worried what you just heard was, "Give me a lot of bacon and eggs." What I said was, "Give me all the bacon and eggs you have". Do you understand?
I'm from Los Angeles, US and currently have 2 years work experience in financial services. Looking to learn from the pros here and exchange tips on the CFA exams.
Hi all! I will be writing the level II exam. Looking for work, graduated a couple of years ago and worked a couple of jobs but nothing that would count towards the 4 years experience I need for the CFA.
If words can be lethal weapons, I must provide them with an arsenal.
@christine Nope, we present the exams in the capital city - Bogota. It would be like an 8 hour trip in car from Medellin, but fortunately air transport is cheap. They are only available in June though, if I wanted to take one on december, I would have to travel to Miami.
@dan: I did speak to a candidate a few months back and he was travelling to Miami for the exams - that wasn't you, was it? How many Colombian candidates are there on average?
@christine Not me; don't know how many candidates... I know everyone is starting to recognize the certification and the exams, so it is starting to grow imo.
Hi Everyone. I'm a level 3 candidate. Would love to be helpful and learn more in the process. P.S. I might not be as active as I would like to given the upcoming Level 3 prep >-
“Once you decide on your occupation you must immerse yourself in your work. You have to fall in love with your work. Never complain about your job, you must dedicate your life to mastering your skill. That’s the secret of success and the key to being regarded honorably. I’ve never once hated my job, I fell in love with my work and gave my life to it.”—Jiro Ono

I'm Sophie from London, UK and a 300 Hours guest contributor. I did the CFA exams back in Dec 2009 and completed it on June 2011. I survived the CFA and know how it feels, so basically here to help out and share the pain (+ laughter)!

I'm currently at level 2 - currently doing finance for a startup.
Only 28 colombians got the CFA so far, so this is me wanting to be one of the first too
@dan - that's awesome - here's to you becoming number 29! Does that mean you have to fly to another country to take the exam?
