@Ajfinance, i used to study for 2-3 hours a day (sometimes only 1 hour) and 5-6 hours during weeked. Only studing in the weekend never worked for me. I started in November along with @alta12 and completed curriculum by March end and only did revision and practice for last 2 months.
in reply to: CFA Level 3 curriculum changes #79994in reply to: Grading Essay Questions #79993in reply to: Study Plan? #79863::1. Have a plan. stick to it.
2. Better start by November and finish by March
3. Plan for revison for a week or two.
4. Do atleast 6-7 papers. Do the mock test of CFAI in addition to them. Plan for test on 1 day and reviewing it on the other day. (so in total 18 days will go here in practicing)
5. Document your mistakes from exam and make sure you read them before attempting the next test.
6. Stay away from other service providers as they miss out a lot.
7. Prepare Notes and keep updating it with your mistakes.
8. Keep bugging people in 300hours for your doubts and help other peoples doubts 🙂
9. A week before exam revise notes, mistakes. Take rest for a day and Go give your best
in reply to: Good luck, Level III people!!! #79862in reply to: Good luck, Level III people!!! #79819in reply to: BEST CFA Level 3 Videos!? #79764in reply to: E-book and Print book #79675::@Knath87, I would suggest to go with Curriculum only for Level-3. Not that you cannot pass it with other prep providers. But since with downsized curriculum, we can happily read curriculum without spending extra time. With reading curriculum you will not miss out anything and also get your concepts very clear. I have noticed that other prep providers leave out stuff which they think are unimportant.
As regards to purchasing the curriclum e-book/print. Last year when I purchased they made it an default option to purchase e-book and you have to shell out entire money same as e-book purchase for buying print option one. Earlier it used to be just $20 extra. Not sure if they changed it now. But if last year option is still there you can come back and buy print curriculum. As of now there is no hurry. You can start sometime in Oct/Nov. I have started in November last year. Have a plan and stick with it. You will happily complete it and leave sufficient time to do practice papers.
in reply to: Only using third party study material? #79388::@priyaamin318, using third material depends on how one is comfortable with and the time remaining for exam. I have preprared using Schweser for Level-1 and Level-2 since I had only 4 months for both levels. For Level-3 I did not even look at schweser except for test papers as I had ample time.
