@concernedape Yeah, robot voices. I think on FRA it’s human voice because so many people wanted it, but it’s for the most part its computer generated.

I did not. I bought courses for Quant and Derivatives, Made it about halfway through Quant and stopped because the voice is a robot and I do not particularly study well to that.

@lugnuts I found them great! Level 1 is on YouTube for free, however they’re all not completely up to date. There is not a whole lot that has changed from what I can discern so I wentwith them anyways. This is going to be the first time I have taken the CFA so I cnant tell you how well it’s prepares compared to other providers like Kaplan but from what I can tell Mark’s videos prepare you very well.

Hello! I am about to register for the level 1 and have been studying for about a month and a half. Currently working in the energy industry I aim to move into the energy finance side of the industry, specifically in the institutional side. I hope the CFA will help me get there!

You all are the bomb. I was planning on using them as supplement review notes to the notes I’ve taken from Mark Meldrum, so this is exactly what I want to hear.

              Thank you!

Multiply both sides by (1+r)^2. That will get you to => 103*(1+r)^2 / (1+r)^2 = 97.0732*(1+r)^2. The (1+r)^2 term on the left cancels out. And then you divide both sides by 97.0732.

Once you get there you take the square root of both sides to get rid f the square term and subtract 1 from both sides. Leaves you with “r = ……”
