Scared! is the word! Am an ameteur student, dont have superpower brains.
Am more of the types who studies 100% gets 70% unlike others viceversa. @ZeeIs there ever a ‘professional student’? 🙂
What i meant was I am not smart ass/intelligent types. I’m more of a the types “who has to slog his ass off, but at the end the results are not always in own favor”, unlike others.
::Hey @hairyfairy, i think you’ve gotten it wrong about @imdnextbuffet. He’s a level 2 candidate if i’m not wrong.

::According to me, I always put a stance that gold as a safe haven is a long gone past. Buy gold if you like the metal but not anymore from investment perspective. There are other AI where one can diversify their portfolios. From YTD where gold gave a negative return of 15 percent, equities like DJIA, Nikkei, Jakarta, Dax gave a return averaged at 12-25%. Now with this kind of returns if one gets from equities why would one be bullish on yellow metal whose loosing its shine. No doubt, uncertainty still mulls over US economy recovery. Recent IMF report indicated US shall grow at a rate of 1.7% as compared to its earlier january projections of 2%. Euro zone worries continues along with the speculative outcome if North korea declares war along with latest report by GS on the gold stating bearish outcome with yearly target of $1390/oz. The OI positions increase for march in gold as per CFTC which under bearish sentiment opines further downside. Dollex strengthening in due course since YTD. At moment, nothing seems to drive gold up. So smart thing to do would be, if you wanna play the market, sell gold else just do nothing.

in reply to: How are you studying? #69571::@sophie I kind of agree with you on the point that its all about how you. Sell yourself in interviews. I shall check those links soon, as I’m in the process to find a new job.
Well about the qualifications part, I can tell you from my personal opinions and generally, specifically the situation in india is such that people (employers) over here place more emphasise on the degrees or qualifications you have. There are People over here who are god damn engineers with MBA’s from B schools and then they do CFA which I find it so odd. Then there are my some friends who are one of top rankers in CA and still they studied actuaries. Way I could make out from this was, employers over here see what you got rather than the experience you have in the particular job, am not saying experience is not counted at all but qualifications take upper hand I guess.
in reply to: Winners this week – @Diya, @Marc, @SidMenon! #69537in reply to: Usefulness of CFA mock exam vs. Schweser mocks?!! #69353::@imdnextbuffet covered all the bases.
My own two cents would be if you have the time do as many mock/practice exams as possible. It helps you get a feel for which sections need more attention and how your time management is. Also when doing mocks give yourself half an hour less to compensate for actual exam stress. This served me well but don’t panic if you can’t finish your mock in 2.5 hours.Totally true @diya time is the core essence. Well timed practise puts us in less frets during the actual exam.
in reply to: Usefulness of CFA mock exam vs. Schweser mocks?!! #69350::IMO, CFA mocks represents how the paper setting style gonna be like, in terms of the framing of questions, language used, etc. whereas schweser mocks are cocktail of every type of questions which can be asked in the exam (which doesn’t really mean that schweser mocks are better, is just that it puts you through rigorous twists and turns in questions). But at the end,never under estimate the god (CFA INSTITUTE), because they do tend to throw scariest googly one can ever face in the battlefield (exam). So without comparing, solve both mocks and schwesers mocks as much as you can. And try to keep consistency in the marks you get, and do check sectionaly too if you faring well or not.
in reply to: I am risk-free rate. Don’t you want to meet me? #69334in reply to: All About Likes and LOLs #69332in reply to: Earning Points #69297::@ajfinance having said that, my friend who works at crisil and an MBA from some B school (not that bad one) was attempting Lvl1 for 5th time, he just couldnt clear out the exam. He consecutively in last three attempts got 9-10 band and failed :S I was damn scared listening to his stories, so in fear I may be did extra hardwork i feel sorry for him but respect his determination.
::Not sure if I’ll go that far @imdnextbuffet! Contradicting the spirit of this post of eating natural and good-for-you stuff, to cleanse, or “detox”, as I believe the human body is not performing optimally due to all the highly processed food we eat sometimes …
@sophie
Yes the foods you mentioned in that post, definitely help out. I had half of them during my preps on daily basis. And it was indeed a great post.::@Zee you are so damn right but for guy like me whose too mediocre with average memory, not amongst elite brainee category, who does extreme hardwork but still no results, who still wants to reach a top level, and if with some enhancement pills which would improve his cognitive functionality/concentration/memory retaining power then I its too normal to take it to pass the exam. 🙂
